| Abstract: |
| This article overviews the technologies used in S-VHS (Super-VideoHome System) VTR, i. e., the outline of the S-VHS format, picture quality impro-vement by increasing carrier, the main new circuit technology, the separated Y/C(luminance and/or chrominance) inputs and outputs newly introduced in consumerVTRs, and the main specification of the European oriented (PAL, SECAN TV Systems)S-VHS VTRs. The article ended with the brief outline of the state and trend ofJapanese S-VHS VTR industry and its impact on the field of home entertainment. |
