高速大容量路由器的基于以太网IPC方式的性能分析

摘要:
随着因特网的飞速发展,大量的信息包通过路由器进行转发,路由器内部的包处理导致其产生大量的IPC(Inter Processor Communication)消息,这些IPC消息的处理速度对于路由器的性能有很大的影响。本论文中我们考虑处理几十万个以上路由表项的IPC信道的实现,提出基于以太网技术的4种IPC方式。通过性能分析和评价,证明本论文的结果适用于大容量路由器系统的实现。

Abstract:
As Internet is growing, large amount of packets are going through routers. Among such packets, internally processed packets cause IPC (Inter Processor Communication) messages in router systems. The performance of routers is greatly affected by processing rate of IPC messages. In this paper, the authors consider the implementation of IPC channels for processing over hundreds of thousands of route entries and propose four Ethernet-based IPC schemes. The results of the performance analysis and evaluation can be applicable in implementing high capacity router systems.
