The feasibility analysis and demonstration of a LEO(Low Earth Orbit) s
atellitebased AIS (Automatic Identification System) are presented. The charact
eristics of AIS is discussed,the effect of the distance between the ship and the
satellite,the period of the satellite′s orbit and the Doppler frequency shift
between satellite and ship on the satellitebased AIS communication is theoreti
cally analysed,the link budget with signal strength compared to AIS receiver sen
sitivity is given,and the design of LEO satellitebased AIS receiver is provide
d.Finally,the computerbased simulations are performed in Matlab. |
