Low-noise microwave transistors are usually specifiedas having a minimum noise figure and an associated gain.However, the associated gain is usually 0.5 to 1.5 dBless than the transistor's maximum available gain. Designers can adiust amplifiers for optimum performance by trading noise figue for gain. |
